Experience

Curt has over 35 years of experience in public accounting. His initial experience was gained with a large local CPA firm in Grand Rapids, and subsequently with Deloitte, Haskins & Sells.  In 1984, he joined with a partner to open their own accounting firm in Grand Haven.  In 1987, he purchased his partner’s share of the business and changed the firm name to Walburg + Associates, P.C.  As sole owner of this multi-CPA firm, Curt was responsible for both the firm’s business operations and client services. Effective January 1, 2017 Walburg+Associates merged with Brickley Delong to allow Curt to focus more on serving clients and to bring a wider array of services to his existing clients and Tri-Cities area businesses.

Curt continues to oversee the Grand Haven office and its team of seven employees. His family’s involvement in the construction industry led him to have a natural interest in assisting construction clients. The construction industry is now Curt’s primary niche, although he enjoys helping clients of all sizes and industries succeed. Curt’s services include: supervising financial statement engagements for construction, manufacturing, and service industry clients; creating succession plans to transfer businesses to family members, management, or third parties; developing tax minimization strategies; personal and business tax planning.

Curt and his wife reside in the Grand Haven area. They have three children.  In his free time he enjoys upland bird hunting, target shooting, woodworking, and serving his community.
